Room for your story
Spiritual Care Consultations
A conversation centered on your story, your beliefs, and your needs.
Grief, caregiving, illness, and seasons of change can raise questions that are difficult to put into words. You may be looking for meaning, struggling with uncertainty, or simply wanting someone to listen without rushing you toward an answer.
Spiritual care offers room to bring those experiences into a thoughtful conversation. Together, we can reflect on what matters to you and where you hope to go from here.
What you can bring
- Grief and the changes that follow a loss
- The demands and questions of caregiving
- Illness, uncertainty, and a changing sense of daily life
- Questions about faith, belief, meaning, or hope
- A transition that has left you feeling unsettled
You do not need a polished explanation or a list of the right questions. A starting point can be as simple as naming what has been weighing on you. Your own beliefs and values guide the conversation.
How I approach spiritual care
I believe in listening with care, making room for honest questions, and helping people reconnect with what matters most. A conversation may involve reflecting on relationships, sources of strength, faith, or the meaning you find in everyday life.
The purpose is not to rush past difficulty. It is to give your experience attention and consider what support, reflection, or next step might be helpful. You can share what feels relevant and ask questions about the approach before deciding whether to continue.
Experience behind the conversation
I’m Jim Erwin, a pastor, author, and Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains. I have served as a pastor for over 25 years and bring 10 years of chaplaincy experience. I completed my clinical pastoral education units through ACPE and currently serve with Mercy Hospital in Cassville and Aurora, Missouri.
My background brings together pastoral ministry and clinical chaplaincy. These consultations are offered through my personal work; they are not a hospital appointment. Spiritual care is a reflective conversation and does not replace medical or mental health treatment.
